08/06: Handling Large Files
A few years ago, I had a very big file (around 8 GBs) that I wanted to backup to DVDs! The first trial was using WinRAR! After waiting a few hours to compress the 8 GBs, I was happy to see that the file was compressed to a file with size less than 4.7 GB and which fits in a single DVD! I quickly burnt the file on a DVD! Later, I was very disappointed when I tried retrieving the backup file! It turned out that WinRAR was not able to retrieve the original file for the compressed file and it looked like WinRAR couldn't handle files larger than 4 GBs!
